BreakOut West Announces Tenille to Perform at The SOCAN Songwriters Circle!

 

BreakOut West just announced their SOCAN Songwriters Circle, which will feature Alberta’s and Royalty Records very own… Tenille!

Songwriters Circle showcases the inspiring words & music from four extremely talented songsmiths.

Held on Sunday, September 30th at 4pm in the intimate setting of the Regina Inn and hosted by Jay Semko 2012 Hall Of Fame Award recipients from Saskatchewan The Northern Pikes, and joined onstage by Alberta’s Tenille, Manitoba’s Greg MacPherson, and BC’s Bob Kemmis.

This live event will give the audience a rare opportunity to hear the story behind the songs. SOCAN is proud to present this acoustic, in-the-round performance by some of western Canada’s finest songwriters.

This event is complimentary to all BreakOut West Delegates and is $10 for the public.

Hey Romeo Nominated for Multiple CCMA Awards, including Fans’ Choice Award

Toronto, ON – 2011 Group of the Year Hey Romeo have been nominated for the 2012 Fans’ Choice Award, Group of the Year and Interactive Artist of the Year by the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA). Additionally Hey Romeo members also received nominations for “Keyboard Player of the Year” (Rob Shapiro), “Guitar Player of the Year (Darren Gusnowsky)”, “Drummer of the Year (Brad Tebble)” and “Bass Player of the Year (Curtis Ebner)”.

Fan’s Choice Award, voting opens this July 18th, 2012 until Friday, September 7, 2012 where fans can vote for their favourite artist online at www.ccmas.org. The winner will be announced at the CCMA Awards, which will broadcast live from Credit Union Centre in Saskatoon, SK on Sunday, September 9, 2012.

Hey Romeo released their third studio album, Twist of Fate (Royalty Records), on June 26, 2012. The new record was co-produced by Hey Romeo and Byron Hill (Gary Allan, Gord Bamford) and features 12 songs including the first single, “Jump Back In.” Recently, they joined country icon Gord Bamford on select dates during his cross-Canada tour and hosted the first annual Alberta Country Music Awards at Westerner Park in Red Deer. They have also opened for legendary country acts including Sugarland and Johnny Reid, making a name for themselves within the Canadian country music industry.

Last year was particularly memorable for the band, garnering a win for Group of the Year at the CCMA Awards and keyboardist Rob Shapiro received an All-Star Band Award for Keyboard Player of the Year for the third year running. In 2010 Hey Romeo’s sophomore album, That’s What I Am, sparked five hit singles including “Searchin’ For You,” which went Top 20 on both the Mediabase and BDS charts, and “That’s What I Am” peaked at #13 on the Billboard Canada Emerging Artist chart. A year after the release of their debut album, the band took home a 2008 CCMA Award for Top New Group of the Year.

In addition to their Fans’ Choice nomination, Hey Romeo will be performing at the CCMA FanFest on September 8 at Prairieland Park in Saskatoon.

New single Till I See You Smile on movie soundtrack!

Chris’ latest single is Till I See You Smile, a beautiful ballad chosen to appear on the soundtrack of the new movie Servitude. Chris says this is the first single he would describe as a “power ballad” since releasing past hit single Somewhere Inside

Till I See You Smile is one of 5 of Chris’ songs, including 2 others from his latest CD project Give Me Tonight that appears on the soundtrack.

Servitude (Alliance Films) is the first film to be produced from the Telefilm Canada Features Comedy Lab, a CFC Film program, in collaboration with Just For Laughs.

Servitude stars Canadian comedy legend Dave Foley (Kids In The Hall, News Radio) and Margot Kidder (Superman) and makes it’s theatrical premiere at theatres in Canada on March 30, 2012.

 

 

THE ORCHARD KICK OFF 2012 WITH THEIR 1ST SINGLE RELEASE

  The Orchard is Kasha Anne (Vocals) and Mitch Smith (Guitars/Backing Vocals). They kick off 2012 with the release of their first single “Stick to Your Guns” written by Brad & Marylynne Stella (The Stellas). Their debut EP available soon only on iTunes is “Southern Ground” which showcases the duo’s diversity and influences as well as their own writing ability. Influenced by everyone from Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood to The Zac Brown Band and Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Orchard has found a sound that is refreshing, honest and genuine.
