CHRIS BUCK BAND RETURNS WITH RELEASE OF BRAND NEW SINGLE ‘RDNKN’ – AT RADIO NOW

WATCH VIDEO EXCLUSIVELY ON COMPLETE COUNTRY

September 19, 2018 (Toronto, ON) – Following the success of his 2017 smash ‘That’s When You Know’, Chris Buck Band is back with his newest country anthem – RDNKN, out to country radio now and available to stream everywhere October 5th. Emphasizing that laidback, easy going lifestyle, the music video for RDNKN is available today exclusively on Complete Country.

WATCH THE VIDEO FOR RDNKN HERE

RDNKN was born out of a partnership Chris Buck started with a close friend on a lifestyle brand merchandise company. Having sold thousands of their signature hats, adorned with RDNKN licence plates, across North America, Buck wanted to write a song that embodied the country lifestyle of having fun and not taking life too seriously. The new music video depicts just that – enjoying the lazy days of summer with an afternoon on the lake fishing and drinking followed by a raging backyard barbeque and bonfire jam.

Breaking onto the scene in 2017 with their debut, self-titled album, Chris Buck Band quickly became one of the fastest rising Canadian country acts with the release of their Billboard Top 20 hit ‘That’s When You Know’ featuring country darling Kira Isabella. The track skyrocketed with over 3.6 million streams and over 100 Spotify playlist adds in addition to its CCMA Award nomination for ‘Video of the Year’. Since then, Chris Buck Band has performed across the country on some of Canada’s biggest festival stages including Boots & Hearts, Rockin’ River Music Fest, The Calgary Stampede and Manitoulin Countryfest.

With more new music and an EP in the works, RDNKN is just the beginning of another successful run for Chris Buck Band. For more information upcoming music and tour dates, please visit www.chrisbuckband.com

The Orchard – Dream Inside A Dream

Fresh off a run of sold out dates throughout Alberta this past April, The Orchard look to release a groovy summer jam, Dream Inside A Dream out on May 11th, 2018.

Inspired by the Woodstock era, I was hooked on the DVD that came out a few years ago with all the old footage from the festival. We were wanting a fun summer tune, with some old school 60’s and 70’s vibes, which turned out to be this song. Dream Inside A Dream, which is also a total blast to play live. So happy this is our summer song this year! Mitch Smith

BLACKIE JACKETT JR. GETS THE PARTY STARTED WITH THE RELEASE OF THEIR NEW ALBUM FOR A GOOD TIME CALL ON 04/20/18

Blackie Jackett Jr. was born in the back of a tour bus within the minds of Finger Eleven guitarists James Black and Rick Jackett. After hearing Sandra Dee singing karaoke between slinging drinks at their local bar, she became the female power behind BJJR, and shortly thereafter, the addition of Jimmy Reid on guitar took Blackie Jackett Jr. from a lone traveler to a band to be reckoned with.

Self-produced and recorded in the band clubhouse, dubbed ‘The Outhouse’, Blackie Jackett Jr. rounded out their sound on the album with the addition of Kevin “The General” Neal on pedal steel.

“The way that each song came about was completely unique to itself,” says Black. “I’ve never been a part of anything like this – despite our hard work, the record really kind of made itself.”

For A Good Time Call Track Listing:

1. Bender
2. Stuck in Rewind
3. Dorothy
4. The Weed Guys
5. Promise to Deliver
6. Mad
7. Daytime Drunks
8. Catatonic Love
9. To See Your Face Again
10. This Girl Is Mean
11. Drunken Eyes

This isn’t the classic country music that your parents listened to. Bringing together some of Toronto’s top talent for one hell of a party, Blackie Jackett Jr. announces the release of their new album with Royalty Records, For A Good Time Call on 04/20/2018. Creating their own brand of old school smart-assed country rock, the 11-track album takes listeners through the highs and lows of a proper bender.

Ten years in the making, Blackie Jackett Jr. are getting the good time started with not one, but two new singles. The band leads with the more mellow ‘Stuck In Rewind’ where they channel their inner Johnny and June and follow with the party pleasing ‘Bender’ that takes listeners along the hazy ride of a wild night with no end in sight.

Never in one place for too long, Blackie Jackett Jr. will be hitting the road this spring with a handful of performances over the summer. Kicking things off during  Canadian Music Week at the on May 10, fans will be able to catch BJJR at The Phoenix Concert Hall with Kiefer Sutherland.

ROYALTY RECORDS SADDENED BY THE PASSING OF BEV MUNRO

Born in Boissivain, Manitoba, Bev’s first job was just 40 miles north at station CKX in Brandon, playing country music for fans in that listening area. His popularity soon gained him a top DJ job in Dauphin, Manitoba and from there, to Regina. His last move was to CFCW in Camrose, Alberta, where he spent 30 years behind the microphone. As the morning host, he started the still-popular Mystery Artist Request Line and his famous Knee-Slapper jokes. In 1959, Bev was named “Mr. DJ USA” along with Ralph Emery, at WSM in Nashville, Tennessee, an honour no other Canadian DJ could claim. On weekends, Bev was out playing shows and dances with his band. His popularity as a singer got him a recording contract and his first hit song was “Hello Operator.” Other songs he wrote become number one hits for such artists as R. Harlan Smith, Chris Nielsen and Hank Smith. From his Capitol LP came his signature song, “Babysitting With The Blues” which got him an opportunity to tour with such artists as Faron Young, The Kitty Wells Show, Jimmy C. Newman and others.

In September 2002, Bev was inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame in the DJ category, at the CCMA Awards. Bev is one of those people who is tall in stature and strong of heart…a real down-home country boy.

“The Canadian country music industry will never ever again be blessed with the likes of my dear long-time friend, Bev Munro. I probably knew Bev longer than most folks, as our relationship went back to his days at Radio Station CKRM, Regina, a number of years before he reigned supreme at Canada’s first 24 hour country radio station, CFCW.  My first live performance on radio was way back in 1960 when Bev Munro, the voice of Regina’s CKRM, introduced me to his audience.  I was awestruck even then by his immense talent as a broadcast personality, never mind his singing and storytelling God given gifts.  Ah but always, from the moment I met Bev, Bev was the man, Bev who said it like he believed it to be, Bev not just any man, but to me in many ways THE MAN.

Thank you Bev for blessing the Royalty Records label with your great country voice on your own recordings, and a very special thank you for a most personal gift to myself and Chris Nielsen when you played a song you had written and wondered if we might do a duet recording of what was to become a country classic song, “Stolen Moments”.  That incredible song solidified our fortunes as a duet.  There is no way Chris and I will ever stop singing this wonderful song when we perform as a duet. There are many memories during one’s lifetime that are etched forever in a person’s memory.  Those moments live on; they pass every test of time.  Such was a very personal call from Bev about three weeks before he moved on.  It lasted more than an hour.  We recalled the Saskatchewan days, the CFCW times, the Legends shows.  We laughed at each other’s sometimes ridiculous carry-ons, and yes sometimes our voices cracked a bit with emotion.

Bev Munro was my friend.  Bev Munro was the Royalty family’s friend.  Bev Munro will live on in our most cherished thoughts forever. From all of us Rob, Kathryn, Chris, Grandson Mitchell, and yours truly.  Rest in Peace Bev.  You’ve earned it.”

– R. Harlan Smith
