Russell Broom did an incredible job capturing Fairyfail. A vocal forward song with hints of Mid-evil banjo and mandolin tones blended with male backups done by Chris Wood, a UK musician. Fairyfail is a fan favorite and has been praised by artists a like.

 

You know those times when you thought things were going to go a completely different way? When the people you thought were your friends weren’t? When you thought you fell in love but instead you just fell? That’s a Fairyfail…. A situation that has a potential to turn out like a Fairytale but instead does the opposite. This is a song that empathizes with those situations in life that we’ve all had. – Amy Metcalfe

JANUARY 2016

Shaw TV is pleased to announce Amy Metcalfe as our TV host for our broadcast of The ACMAs’ Jan 31, 2016 in Red Deer. Amy will lead a 15 minute pre-show package for TV. Amy will also be interviewing the winners from each category as they come off the stage from their acceptance speech.  If time allows Shaw TV will also have a short post awards show wrap up that Amy will host.Along with ACMA Awards Show Live Performance of “Fairyfail”.

Hails from Red Deer. Born in Winnipeg.

Amy spends her time immersed in songwriting and working on the farm. She’s a horse trainer and partakes in regular equestrian competitions all across Alberta.

She plays guitar, banjo, ukulele and piano and has written over 200 songs!

Amy has worked with some of Canada and Nashville’s top writers including, Grammy Winner Wayne Kirkpatrick, Cindy Morgan, Phil Madiera, Jeremy Bose, Byron Hill, Duane Steele and Rylee Madison.

“My Heart Beats (123)” is written by Amy. Her two influences are Jewel and Taylor Swift and she decided to use all her own self-penned songs (no co-writes) on her upcoming album. She wanted to tell these stories directly from herself.

ABOUT THE ORCHARD

The-Orchard-edits-6 The Orchard hails from Edmonton, Alberta. A duo made up of Kasha Anne and Mitch Smith whose sound and songwriting can be defined as, smooth southern country with a rock edge.

The Association of Country Music in Alberta (ACMA) has recognized The Orchard by being nominated for 2011 and 2012’s “Group or Duo of the Year” and most recently received nominations for ACMA’s 2013 “Rising Star”, “Group or Duo of the Year” and “Song of the Year” for “All Roads Lead Home”.

The Orchard’s debut album, Southern Ground was released in August 2012 through Royalty Records and received rave reviews, including five singles that entered the top 100 on Trax country charts.

May 2014 marks the release of The Orchard’s new single “She Don’t Play Fair” off their upcoming album “Georgia” coming late summer.
