Sometimes when you write a song, you kind of have to let it sit for a while before you know whether or not it’s going to cut it. With Georgia, it was obvious. This song is one of the true Orchard heart wrenchers of this album. It was also an obvious choice as the title track for the album because of its impact and imagery. Georgia has a Whiskey Lullaby feel with how it demonstrates the power of love and how we can be so taken by the simple things that consume our own personal worlds. It’s relatable to anyone who’s suffered heartbreak. We played it long before we recorded it and we still love this song so much!

“Being in the studio…. Is our absolute favourite place to be. It’s where our idea/spark of a song comes to life. We always learn so much from recording in the studio. It’s like each word of the song that you’re working on is under a microscope and you really get to know it! This album was so much fun because we recorded it at a couple different amazing studios. So many talented people were involved from the band to our producer, to the writers we wrote with and to the owners of the studios. What a journey this album has been, making it and listening to it! It takes you through many emotions, making it a roller coaster ride of listening. That’s what we try to do with every album, a little bit of this, a little bit of that and a little bit more of something else. Voila!!! We have an album. One song can take you through the 80’s rock, and surface in a reggae sounding bridge. Others take you into a pop twist or a beautiful finger picking ballad.” – Robyn & Ryleigh
By Heart is truly a Western Canadian album, with the majority of tracks recorded at the beautiful OCL Studios a few miles outside of Calgary and another batch of songs were recorded in BC at Studio Downe Under in the rural Fraser Valley, while the remaining vocals and other tracking were done at Raincoast Music in downtown Vancouver under the guidance of Paul Shatto. As well one track (Better Tomorrow) was born in Nashville during a writing session. This album also features an eclectic mix of great musicians, including Russell Broom (Jann Arden), Pat Steward (Bryan Adams), Rusty Danmyer (LeeAnn Rimes, Martina McBride), Dennis Marcenko (The Higgins, OMG, kd Lang, Colin James) and Chris Byrne (Roadhammers).
