“STAY HOME” is Blake’s single being released in conjunction with and in support of his Album “RUST” which was released October 30th 2015.”RUST” peaked at #17 on the Canadian country iTunes chart on it’s release day last Friday.

No other art form puts more stock in authenticity than country music, and there’s never been any question about that with Blake Reid. Just get the native of Cremona, Alberta talking about his upbringing and you’ll hear more than enough proof. In fact, there’s a story that in many ways best sums up Reid’s latest album, Rust, released October 30th 2015. It goes something like this: One of his most cherished possessions is his grandfather’s ’72 Chevy pickup, which he’s managed to keep running like a top. One day, Reid’s young son asked why he’s never repainted the worn-down spot on the window edge of the driver’s side door. Reid’s response? That’s the place where his grandfather’s elbow always rested and covering it up would erase part of his story.Rust is brimming with similar tales, showcasing Reid’s status as a true workingman’s poet.

All of those elements add up to the vision Reid had for Rust from the beginning, celebrating the future while honouring the past. It was a concept that Reid’s producer Phil O’Donnell—one of Nashville’s many transplanted Canadians, whose songs have been recorded by the likes of George Strait, Blake Shelton and Brad Paisley—latched onto immediately. “Phil just has the right feel for current sounds, and also a deep understanding of everything that’s necessary to make great records,” Reid says. “All the players on the album were hand-picked CMA award winners, and being able to work with them at Legends Studio in Nashville, where Willie and Waylon and so many of my other heroes made records, was really a dream come true.”

BRAND NEW ALBUM FROM HEY ROMEO OUT THIS WEEK!

For Immediate Release:

Alberta-based, CCMA Award winning Country band Hey Romeo

set to release Ride With Me EP September 25th

Ride_With_Me_COVER SMALL

(Toronto, On –September 21st) – Hey Romeo’s records always reflect their commitment to their craft, their fans and each other, and Ride With Me (Royalty Records/Sony Music Canada) is no exception.

On Ride With Me, vocalist Stacie Roper, guitarist Darren Gusnowsky and keyboardist Rob Shapiro offer up their signature blend of harmonies, but also display a deeper, more fluent dialogue as players and songwriters than ever before.

Preoccupied with beginnings and endings, the 7-song EP dwells equally on the hope new relationships inspire and the places where love went wrong, treading the line between heartbreak and happiness and on songs like the tongue in cheek lead single, ‘Pushing Up Daisies,’ and rockers like ‘If That Sounds Like You’ and ‘Don’t Cry To Me’ – a track that finds Hey Romeo stretching out to create a unique style of modern country with echoes of 80’s New Wave haunting the edges.

Ride With Me’s title track finds Gusnowsky stepping up to take on lead vocals for the first time since  Hey Romeo’s self-titled debut, adding substantial depth to the record and displaying just how much talent the trio possess, individually and collectively.

Ride With Me features an aggressive, more modern sound for the band, a seamless blend of country, roots and straight ahead rock and roll that’s a product of Shapiro and Gusnowsky’s insistence on producing the EP themselves, capturing Hey Romeo’s live sound on record and, Shapiro says, “Owning the album from the bottom up.”

Put bluntly, Hey Romeo have put in their 10,000 hours and then some, and that shows on Ride With Me; a set of songs so true to life, listeners will hear their own lives reflected in them on the very first listen.

About Hey Romeo: Over the years Hey Romeo have toured extensively, playing countless shows on their own and with artists including Sugarland, Darius Rucker, Gord Bamford, Johnny Reid, Alan Jackson, Terri Clark and The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

In that time Hey Romeo have been awarded multiple CCMA Awards beginning with Top New Talent of the Year (2008), and Group or Duo of the Year two years running in 2011 and 2012. In 2014 their single, ‘Hello Patio,’ from the I Got This EP garnered the band the Alberta Country Music Award (ACMA) for Song of the Year.

“This EP, if you listen to the lyrics, is about self discovery whether that be through someone who hurt you, someone you’ve lost, or the person you’ve shaded yourself to be.  As a new artist I’m trying to figure out my place in the mix and this album is a good representation of the last few years of my life. There are a lot of question marks in the lyrics.  I’ve been blessed to write with so many amazing writers but I felt like the stuff we wrote was better suited for my second album, allowing room for growth and to show another side of me… as there seems to be a few of those!” – Amy Metcalfe

With a love to perform and be on stage rooted in a 13 year dance career Amy aspires to impact Canadian Country Music in a big way by embracing radio and performances across Canada.  Her hopes are that with every performance and listen you experience, you leave with a sense of who she is and can relate to the life in her lyrics.

“We live in a day and age where both husbands and wives work. When I’m out on the road touring, my wife works a full day at the hospital and on top of that takes care of the day to day goings on of our household. I know how challenging this can be when it is my turn to deal with it all.

I started thinking about this song idea when I got back home from a tour. I could see she needed a break. I poured her a glass of wine when she got home from work, told her to put her feet up and not to worry about supper and the kids. “I Got This,” I told her.” – Darren Gusnowsky, Hey Romeo

ABOUT TENILLE

Awarded the 2012 Alberta Country Music Association Award for Female Artist of the Year, Grande Prairie’s Tenille first experienced national media attention at age nine, when she was hoisted on to an Edmonton stage to perform with Shania Twain. It was then she declared, “I really want to be a singer – that’s my dream.” And and so her dream unfolds…

Tenille was signed to Royalty Records at seventeen years old and was selected to sing when the 2010 Olympic Torch Relay went through her hometown. Later that year, she took the stage at the CCMA New Artist Showcase and her song “Time Machine” placed in the Top 50 for the International Songwriter’s Competition in the youth category. Tenille’s exceptional songwriting skills have aligned her with Nashville SESAC Legacy Award Winner Stan Webb, and multi JUNO nominated and CCMA Award winners Tim Taylor, Byron Hill and Troy Kokol.

One year later working with Nashville-based Canadian producer Fred Mollin, Tenille released her debut album, REAL, in 2011. The album reached #13 on the Soundscan Country chart in its first week and earned Tenille the title of youngest ever nominee for Female Artist of the Year at the Canadian Country Music Awards.

On July 9, 2012 Tenille’s latest single, “Starts With You” was serviced to Canadian country radio.

A strong advocate for ‘giving back,’ Tenille has contributed to fundraising efforts for Slave Lake, Haiti and is the creator behind the annual music event Big Hearts for Big Kids benefiting Sunrise House, the only youth emergency shelter north of Edmonton. In the three-year event tenure, $194,000 was raised which helped to keep the shelter doors open. Her efforts have been recognized by Chris Warkentin, Canada’s Member of Parliament for Peace River and she was also recognized by the Grande Prairie Volunteer Services Bureau Association and awarded a Leaders of Tomorrow Award.

On September 8th, 2012 at the Canadian Country Music Association Awards in Saskatoon, SK, Tenille was honoured with the 2012 Slaight Music Humanitarian Award, previously won in 2011 by Johnny Reid and Gord Bamford in 2010.

Tenille’s Play It Forward tour begins October 2012 in her home province of Alberta and will continue to move throughout the country in the spring 2013. Additional school tour dates and locations will be announced shortly.
