R. HARLAN SMITH SET TO RELEASE 10TH STUDIO ALBUM, LEADING WITH TITLE SONG ‘WAY BACK WHEN’
“Way Back When” is the title song of Harlan’s latest album set for release on December 11th, 2020. It is the tenth album in his career as a country music artist and writer, all wedged in between a passion to create a Canadian owned record label and music publishing company, and produce records for other Canadian artists. His own career started out in 1961 when he was a guest artist on Gordie Brandt’s CFQT television show in Saskatoon. Later that same year, he performed on his first live country radio show on CKRM Regina with a country band. |
Fast forward to 2020, and you see a career that has spanned 60 years and has taken him around the world as a country performer and show producer. From his first #1 Canadian record as Bob Smith, “Ode To Suburbia” in 1970 to his Canadian Country Music Album of the Year in 1977 as R. Harlan Smith, to the #1 duet single with Chris Nielsen “Stolen Moments”, the list goes on and on. With awards too numerous to mention, Harlan has lived up to the words Larry Delaney wrote in Country Music News when he suggested in one of his many editions that Harlan was the original four letter man of Canadian country music – singer, songwriter, producer, and entrepreneur. From way back when to November 2020 not much has really changed. Harlan’s just completed album, “Way Back When” features some songs old and new. |

AMY METCALFE’S DEBUT ALBUM – NOW AVAILABLE!
SONY MUSIC CANADA PRESENT…
A multi-faceted talent grown in a small town in Manitoba, and cured on an acreage in Alberta, Amy Metcalfe is the newest face to Country Music.
With her unique vocals and writing Amy has caught the attention of some of the biggest writers in country music today. She has written over 250 songs herself and co-written with talents such as Byron Hill, Grammy award winners and Nominees Cindy Morgan and Wayne Kirkpatrick (Little Big Town, Faith Hill, Martina Mcbride, Trisha Yearwood…),Duane Steele and Phil Madeira (Garth Brooks, Civil Wars, Toby Keith…) to name a few.
Amy’s debut EP “InsideOut” comes out today on iTunes and hits store shelves Tuesday April 28th, 2015, with 6 of the 7 tracks self penned. Amy hopes the compilation gives listeners a good sense of the many sides of her.
“This EP, if you listen to the lyrics, is about self discovery whether that be through someone who hurt you, someone you’ve lost, or the person you’ve shaded yourself to be. As a new artist I’m trying to figure out my place in the mix and this album is a good representation of the last few years of my life. There are a lot of question marks in the lyrics. I’ve been blessed to write with so many amazing writers but I felt like the stuff we wrote was better suited for my second album, allowing room for growth and to show another side of me… as there seems to be a few of those!” – Amy Metcalfe
With a love to perform and be on stage rooted in a 13 year dance career Amy aspires to impact Canadian Country Music in a big way by embracing radio and performances across Canada. Her hopes are that with every performance and listen you experience, you leave with a sense of who she is and can relate to the life in her lyrics.

“I’ve gone through those relationships, where I know things have to come to an end. The thought stays with me throughout the day, another night behind closed doors doesn’t seem like such a terrible idea..I think it is common for people to go through things like that. Whether they are afraid of missing that person, or just aren’t sure what the right thing to do is. That’s what this song means to me…Honest and simple, with a touch of bluegrass” – Mitch
“We all have a person in our lives at some point who we love, but isn’t good for us. Gotta Let You Go is light and encouraging for anyone who needs the strength to make a change. Hopefully this beat can help kick the blues.” – Kasha
